We are likely to disclose some personal information to overseas recipients as described below.
Anonymity and pseudonymity
Where lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym, including when making general enquiries. However, we may need identifying information to create and secure an account, process payments, provide support, comply with law, respond to access or correction requests, investigate misuse or provide particular PartWise features.

These tools help us provide authentication, remember service settings, measure product usage, understand advertising attribution and improve the service. You can disable some cookies in your browser, although essential authentication or security features may not work without them.
Use of your personal information
We collect and use personal information to provide, operate, maintain, secure and improve PartWise, including to:
- create and administer accounts, authenticate users and manage subscriptions;
- process payments, issue invoices and manage refunds or disputes;
- provide AI-assisted analysis, classification, extraction, summarisation and evidence organisation when you initiate those features;

We may disclose personal information to service providers and contractors for the purpose of providing, securing and improving PartWise, including Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, Supabase for database and encrypted cloud backup storage, Vercel for hosting, Anthropic for AI-assisted analysis, PostHog EU Cloud for product analytics, Resend for email delivery, Sentry for error monitoring, BetterStack for uptime monitoring and incident management, Google and Meta for advertising attribution, and professional advisers, regulators, courts or law enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.
Encrypted vault data and AI processing
PartWise uses a client-side encrypted vault architecture for vault data. Vault data is designed to be encrypted on your device before cloud backup, and the decryption key is controlled by you. We do not hold your vault password or recovery phrase and cannot recover encrypted vault data if those credentials are lost.
This zero-knowledge style architecture applies to stored vault data. It does not mean that all information you provide is invisible to us or our service providers in every context.
When you initiate AI-assisted features, relevant content may be transmitted through our systems or service infrastructure to Anthropic's Claude API for transient processing. Where supported by our AI provider contract and settings, we use AI processing settings and providers that do not use your content to train foundation models and do not retain your content after processing, except to the extent necessary for security, abuse monitoring or legal compliance.
Use of AI
PartWise uses AI to assist with record extraction, classification, organisation and summarisation at your direction. PartWise does not use automated systems to make decisions about your legal rights, family law outcomes, pricing, subscription status or access to the service in a way that is intended to significantly affect your rights or interests without human involvement.
Overseas disclosure
Some service providers process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States, Singapore, the European Union and locations used by global cloud infrastructure. This may include the United States for providers such as Anthropic, Clerk, Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, Resend and Sentry, and European Union regions for providers such as PostHog EU Cloud and BetterStack where those services are configured or hosted in those regions. Before disclosing personal information overseas, we generally rely on taking reasonable steps in the circumstances to ensure overseas recipients do not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to that information, including contractual, technical and organisational safeguards where appropriate.
Encrypted vault backups may be stored overseas in encrypted form. AI processing may involve transient disclosure of relevant content to Anthropic in the United States or other locations used by that provider.
Security
We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is secure and protected from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. These steps may include client-side encryption for vault data, encryption in transit, access controls, authentication controls, auto-lock functionality, monitoring, logging and administrative safeguards. However, no technology or service can be guaranteed to be secure.
If we become aware of an eligible data breach under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), we will assess and respond to the breach in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including by notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required.
Data retention and deletion
We retain active account information for as long as your account or subscription is active and for as long as reasonably required for billing, compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and legitimate business records. Unless you delete your vault earlier, encrypted vault backups may be retained in read-only mode for up to 30 days after expiry, cancellation or failed payment to allow you to export your information or resubscribe.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security and service functionality. We also use PostHog EU Cloud product analytics to understand product usage and improve PartWise. Product analytics do not include vault content. We may use Google and Meta advertising conversion tools to understand whether advertising is effective, but we do not place advertising or attribution tracking on encrypted vault pages or use vault content for advertising.
Google and connected services
If you choose to connect Gmail or another third party service, PartWise will request the access needed for the feature you initiate, such as read-only access for an email scan. Where Google API data is used, our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google API Services User Data Policy - Limited Use Disclosure

- We only transfer this data to others if doing so is necessary to provide or improve those user-facing features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with the user's explicit consent.
- We do not use this data for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalised, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not allow humans to read this data unless we have obtained your affirmative agreement to view specific messages, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or for internal operations where the data has been aggregated and anonymised.
